Coastal Equine was formed in late 2009 by Dr. Erica Fuller and is a resource for trouble-shooting medical and surgical conditions unique to your horse. Erica graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 1985 and came to Massachusetts shortly thereafter to do a surgical internship.  Three years later Erica started Backstretch Veterinary Associates.  Erica’s experience there include 20 years at Suffolk Downs as a racetrack practitioner and the creation of a multi-doctor mobile equine practice with emphasis on performance and sport horses.

In 1995 and 1998, Erica and her husband adopted two children, Lucas and Moira, from South Korea who served as inspiration for some of her environmental concerns (among other things).  In 2003 Erica sold Backstretch Veterinary to Dr. Suzanne Loheac in order to attend law school and pursue these environmental interests. Erica graduated from the University of Maine, School of Law in 2007, was admitted to the state and federal bars in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and practiced law for the Boston law firm of Todd & Weld.  Presently, in addition to practicing veterinary medicine, Erica works as a contract attorney for the environmental organization Earthjustice.
